Organizing for Good: Introducing Community Connectors

In our last update, we shared how our Action Teams Work Sessions are bringing together

community members who are ready to learn, serve, and turn ideas into meaningful engagement. These sessions help us identify opportunities, develop leadership, and build the foundation for a stronger civic network across Baldwin County.

As we continue this work, it is important to recognize the difference between mobilizing people for a moment and organizing people for sustained engagement beyond a single campaign or election cycle. Mobilization asks people to show up when there is a specific need. Organizing builds relationships, trust, and leadership that allows communities to identify their own priorities and work together toward lasting solutions.

The Organizing for Good infrastructure is designed to support candidates at the federal, state, and local levels who share our values. Rather than relying only on short-term campaign outreach, we are building trusted relationships and channels where residents can access information, learn about endorsed candidates, understand their platforms, and participate in civic life through connections that already exist within their neighborhoods.

The next step in this work is introducing the people who will help bring that vision to life:

Community Connectors (CCs).

Community Connectors complement the important work already being done through traditional campaign structures. CCs are not simply messengers; they are neighbors building relationships. Their role is to listen to their communities, learn what people care about, connect residents with resources and opportunities, share important information, and help people discover meaningful ways to participate.

Most importantly, Community Connectors are focused on empowering neighbors to become

leaders. Every community has people who care deeply about their schools, their environment, their local economy, and the future of Baldwin County. Our goal is to help connect those people, strengthen relationships across neighborhoods, and create a network capable of turning shared values into meaningful action.

We are looking for neighbors who are willing to start conversations, listen to others, and help

strengthen the connections that shape our communities. You do not need special experience or a political background—only a willingness to engage, build relationships, and help your neighbors find their voice.
